Dr Zakir
Hussain was India's first Muslim president from 1967 to 1969 before
becoming vice president of India and also one of the founder of Jamia
Millia Islamia. He was a great patriot and social reformer. Dr Zakir Hussain was
also Vice Chancelor of AMU |

1948. Then he become governor of Bihar in 1967. He was also recipetent of Padma
Bhushan and Bharat Ratna awards in 1963. Engg college got its name after this great
soul in 1954. Central Library of Jamia Millia is also named after him. |
